Harry Potter: Exposing the Dangers of Witchcraft in Harry Potter Literature

By Chris Lawson (July 20, 2005)

Many people claim that Harry Potter is just a harmless boy sorcerer in a creative children's fantasy book. Others, who know Harry's 'craft' well, and are real practitioners of Witchcraft/Wicca, say that Harry's Magic and tools of the occult (spells, potions, incantations, summoning’s, etc.) are represented well.

Just a few evenings ago the full-blown glorification of Witchcraft occurred not to far from here, at Edinburgh, Castle. The following is from my brand new blog, which I wrote the other night whilst sitting here at my desk by the seaside in Portobello, Scotland. On that night, Friday, July 15, 2005, J.K. Rowling was celebrating another new book launch at 12:00 midnight. One thousand zealous Harry Potter fans joined her on the Edinburgh Castle esplanade for a festive occult celebration:

Harry Potter, Astrology, Occultism and Witchcraft

Edinburgh Castle: Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft
Tonight J.K. Rowling's next book is released!!!

Hello friends, I am writing from my desk near the sea's edge - Edinburgh, Scotland.

It is 7:15pm on July 15, 2005. Edinburgh Castle is just a few miles from where I sit at our writing desk.

Tonight, J.K. Rowlings' next Harry Potter book will be released. In light of Harry's 'Big Day' and the pure occult fantasy book being almost worshipped around the globe, I thought I might open this blog account with a word of caution in regards to the occult, witchcraft, astrology, necromancy, spiritism, etc.

I will begin with the astrological sign next to my name in the blogger profile.

The astrological 'sign' next to my own name in the Blogger Profile is not something I subscribe too or prefer to have any association with. The 'astrological' verbage comes with the Blogger.com service and is automatically placed by one's name upon setting up a Blogger.com account.

God's Word is very clear on what occultism is and the God of the Bible clearly condemns it for good reasons. Every form of occultism and magical art known to man ultimately has the power to open up, or 'tap into', a dimension of spiritual darkness and deception that has the capability to drown men and women in everlasting perdition. Sadly, many open the doors of occult subjection so to their own demise.

I state this simply because I think it is only right for you, the reader, to know where we stand on this matter of astrology and occultism. If I can find a way to remove the 'astrological' overtones from my blog I will. In the meantime however, her is a verse from the most reliable book ever penned by human hands - the Holy Bible.

"When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations [detestable acts] of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son of his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out before you. You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you." (Deuteronomy 18:9-22)

It is very clear what the God of all creation thinks about occultism. Jehovah God knows that when a human being opens the door to the occult, all manner of mayhem, perversion and evil can come through and destroy the life of an individual; and an entire nation. God condemns occultism because it defiles the human race, destroys human beings from the inside and out, and prevents people from coming to know the only true God, Jesus Christ.

Interestingly, many compromising Christian leaders have even accepted Harry Potter as just a harmless book that needs not be worried about. Some Christian folks have even gone so far as to say that the Gospel is interwoven through Harry's books. This is far from the truth!

The links below will direct you to many articles that reveal that Harry Potter's 'Craft' is pure Witchcraft.  Not only that, it has the potential to influence children to participate in Witchcraft/Wicca. Our research reveals that all forms of occultism, including Harry Potter's witchcraft, have the potential to destroy human beings, now and for eternity. Don't be deceived; occultism is deadly!  All Divination Is Forbidden By God.

J.K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter, is the highest paid author in history. She is a resident of Edinburgh, Scotland and she has received an honorary doctorate for her literary achievement from the nearby University of Edinburgh. As Britain's biggest-earning woman of the year [2003], J.K. Rowling topped The Mail on Sunday's list of 100 highest-paid women in Britain. In 2003 alone she earned £100m ($1,772,494). So far Mrs. Rowling has earned over 1 billion dollars on Harry Potter book sales, Harry Potter films and endless supplies of Harry Potter merchandise. Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh is Scotland's capital and is home to approximately 500,000 people. Edinburgh itself has been recognized for centuries as a very dark city, spiritually and morally. Today it attracts millions of tourists with its world-renowned international festivals. Edinburgh has an incredible history and it is well known as one of Europe's most beautiful cities. Its ancient volcanic landscape and Gothic architecture are stunning to behold. Edinburgh has also been referred to as the Witchcraft capital of Europe. It is also the home of the modern Ecumenical movement, which sprang out of the 1910 World Missions Conference. Upon the launch of J.K. Rowling's sixth book, 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince', over 1000 children celebrated with J.K. Rowling at Edinburgh Castle. The "£50,000 launch extravaganza in Edinburgh saw specially selected children transported to Edinburgh Castle in horse-drawn carriages, as fire-eaters and jugglers lined the Royal Mile." The Castle itself was transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and on the stroke of midnight, July 16th, 2005, the sixth book launched and Mrs. Rowling's fortune skyrocketed. Don't be deceived, occultism is deadly!!!

J.K. Rowling has made Harry Potter the world's most famous witch. Simply put, J.K. Rowling has become a billionaire through the creative story of a boy [now adult] wizard [sorcerer, witch, wiccan]. Harry Potter, who glorifies and revels in his trade - witchcraft, is looked upon as a role model and boy hero by over three hundred undiscerning parents and parents.

More than a third of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels have been sold in the United States. The first five Harry Potter books have sold more than 265 million copies in 200 countries and have been translated into 62 languages. "We are delighted to announce that worldwide sales for the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling have now exceeded 300 million copies, "said a spokeswoman for her literary agent Christopher Little.

J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter phenomenon has swept across the world and been accepted by the masses as fun and enjoyment. The God of creation says, "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft" (1 Samuel 15:23). Harry Potter and his world of occultism, repackaged for youth, is nothing more than trafficking with the world demons. Don't be deceived, occultism is deadly!!!  All Divination Is Forbidden By God.

Kings Cross

J.K. Rowling, and Harry Potter and his friends, have made Kings Cross Railway Station more famous than it has ever been.

King's Cross, the glorified train station of the Harry Potter series, is the very well known London terminus for the east coast main line railway in England. It is interesting to note that the Kings Cross Railway Station was the first temporary station built by Great Northern Railway at Maiden Lane in 1850. The temporary station closed two years later and according to the King's Cross Railway Website, the present station opened on 14 October 1852. Now, with the influence of Harry Potter, many people simply identify Kings Cross Station with Harry Potter. It can probably be said that some Harry Potter fans even visit Kings Cross just for the fun of it.  All Divination Is Forbidden By God.

Tools of the Occult

Ouija Boards, wands, potions and spells... harmless or hurtful? Take a closer look at what Harry's tools of the occult can do. Don't be deceived; occultism is deadly!!!  All Divination Is Forbidden By God.

Forms of Occultism

Harry Potter is nothing less than a full blown practitioner of Sorcery (a form of occultism). Dr. Ron Enroth, professor of sociology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, and an authority on new religions and cults, defines the occult and its characteristics as follows:

"The term refers to "hidden" or "secret" wisdom; to that which is beyond the range of ordinary human knowledge; to mysterious or concealed phenomena; to inexplicable events. It is frequently used in reference to certain practices (occult "arts") which include divination, fortune telling, Spiritism (necromancy), and magic. Those phenomena collectively known as "the occult" may be said to have the following distinct characteristics: (1) the disclosure and communication of information unavailable to humans through normal means (beyond the five senses); (2) the placing of persons in contact with super-natural powers, paranormal energies, or demonic forces; (3) the acquisition and mastery of power in order to manipulate or influence other people into certain actions. [Ronald Enroth, "The Occult," Walter A. Elwell, ed., Evangelical Dictionary of Theology (Grand Rapids, MI: Baker, 1984), 787.]

Don't be deceived; occultism is deadly!!!  All Divination Is Forbidden By God.

Out From Darkness

For those who are interested in playing witchy games with the Kingdom of darkness, we warn and recommend that you flee from the thought as it. It is evil and hazardous to your life and soul. Read Ben Alexander's Out From Darkness, the real life story of a man who escaped demonic beings, that were at first friendly in the séance room, but then turned on him and his friends, revealing their grisly and diabolical nature. This is a book that will not only make the hair on your neck stand up, it will lead you to the truth as it is in Jesus Christ - the only hope and salvation of mankind. Don't be deceived; occultism is deadly!!!   All Divination Is Forbidden By God.

Biblical Prohibition

The Bible has over 150 references to the kingdom of the occult. All forms of occultism can be classified as "trafficking with demons". God has warned of its dangers, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, and that eternal fire awaits those who traffic with demons. Don't be deceived; occultism is deadly!!!
